An old fashioned post box.
And unless you come from another planet (or Sunderland perhaps !!) you will recognise where about it is.
Guess I am from ontoher planet, but the post box is well placed and of such a color that it can't be missed!
Excellent shot Mick..Lin
Is that what you're reading these days Mick?
I should explain that The Sunday Post is a Scottish newspaper!
Good one Mike!

Same here, Mick.
I always suspected there was something different about me - I really do not know where this image was taken I do love that red post box though - a beauty !
Wow, two Victorian beauties in one shot, well done.

and I am not from Sunderland or another planet.....however I find the image wonderful....excellent photography Mick
No post here on a Sunday Mick,, a fine composition,
What a lovely old post box Mick ~ altogether a fine composition.
A grand old post box - would not want to post letters there if it was stormy, I can see letters being blown away! At least the hole looks big enough to get your arm in if you change your mind about posting
Great comp Mick
Yes the good old Forth rail bridge Mick seen that few times in my younger days, A cracking shot though Rob
At least it isn't The Last Post, Mick. We've been hearing rather a lot of that in the last week . . .
Nicely composed shot, even if it's rather a long way from Tipperary
Abrilliant shot Mick
Great image & the red really pops.....love it & I think I know where it is
A very good 'posting' Mick, and not completely short of Rust. ( Is it the Golden Gate Bridge)
The old pillar boxes are always good for a picture and you show this one well, if I am being picky Mik and if you were able without falling into the drink - had you moved slightly left the fabulous bridge might have been less obtrusive but full credit to you for the shallow dof the P.B could look better a couple of inches left where there is a natural dip in the structure of the bridge I do like these old type P.B. though
What is wrong with Sunderland Mike?
I have been a Sunderland fan all my life, I lived in Whitburn for a considerable time, and I know Sunderland very well. I find your remark to be extremely curt and out of order. "But you are probably right"
A great image, love the point of view and the subject matter
Cracking shot Mick, excellent composition and I love the post box
Sunday Post, eh? My dad used to get that newspaper every...err...Sunday! I used to like reading The Broons and Oor Wullie when I were a lad...and a bit older! A fine looking old post box, and that old bridge in that background ain't bad either!
Is it the Tyne Bridge Mick? I love that receding focus which helps to accentuate the post box.
Trust you to take a picture with the old post box as your subject instead of the Forth Rail Bridge! And it's not all that grotty, quite well maintained. Excellent dof, though, Mick.
Where ever it is, it's a beauty. The juxtaposition between the two objects is brilliant.
This really makes for a beautiful shot but I must admit I got rather anxious initially as I hunted about desperately to find some rust and couldn't find any!
I then relaxed as I realised it was your evil twin who had taken this and commandeered your EPZ account.
Very impressive combination Mick
Nice work Mick, just goes to show the old ones are the best
That is a beautiful old post box, and love the title Mick. Moira
You would remember them putting this up, no?
very good explanation of a sunday post
I have stood on your planet some 13 years ago and taken a few shots of the beacons under there.
I'm from Sunderland Mick and have no idea what you are on about!!
However......I do know a good shot when I see one!
They don't Mackem like that anymore Mick, a first class post from you, just like the postman you always deliver
Well done placing the postbox where you did, Mick. For a change, something really dominates over our lovely bridge!!!
Fantastic shot , Mick....
Who put that there?
I am so into that great metalic thing in the background Mick!
