Taken on a nice cold morning 1/12/2012 I had not noticed the mist build up on the lens untill I got home. I feel it has improved the sunrise

You've certainly achieved a really nice flare around the sun which may be the misting of the lens, I like it. If you have something which uses levels to edit shots try lowering the level slightly and that may improve the flare effect.
