This was taken on one of the lava beaches of Lanzarote in 2010. I uploaded this shot previously but made a fairly poor job of the processing so thought I would have another crack at it.

Well composed shot.
Those large foreground rocks help create a z shape running through the image - very eye-catching

Nicely done Derek. The black sand and pebbles balance the silhouetted headland well. The water movement is spot on for me, and a lovely sky to top it.

Wonderfully balanced image Derek - the detailed foreground with the black sand, large rocks and the milky sea and that lovely sky. You've done a super job here - didn't see the original, but this really works for me!

Just popped to have a look at your originals, and agree that your revised processing has worked a treat on the shot. That black beach now looks like a black beach, rather than a pale grey one.

Apart from just getting better at using PS I was having real problems when I first put this on EPZ with uploaded images looking very different from the full size file.

Thanks for the very kind comments everyone. Really encouraging.

Lovely image of an island We've been to many times (La Santa sport )
You've certainly done justice to all the elements in image- soft sunset colours, waves and foreground interest in rocks.
