It is important with sunset shots to have something interesting in the foreground to make a silhouette. The palm tree fits the bill nicely because there are some interesting shapes there.
I can't make up my mind about the other tree. It has quite a complex shape and I am just wondering if it might just be a bit overpowering. It is fighting a bit with the palm tree. There is not all that much space in the shot and I think the plam tree might have been enough on its own. Just a thought.

Hello, Joe, and welcome to EPZ. This is a very attractive sunset, enhanced by your use of the strong tree silhouettes. The sun itself is nicely placed between the trees and there is still some colour within it (a lot of sunset suns suffer from burn-out/too white), so you handled the exposure well. There is a lot of colour within this photo that can be brought out and enhanced, and the silhouettes can be made darker and more pronounced. But it's the composition that lets it down because, although the palms are attractive, the right-hand tree isn't so attractive and is dominating the image. In this respect, I agree with Catherine above. The answer seems to be to do some cropping, so I have uploaded a modification where I did a small crop to the left, just to bring the tree trunk butting up against the frame. I then cropped quite a bit from the right so that there was only part of the dominant tree in the frame, and it again butted against the frame, so that we then had the trees all framing the sunset and I think the balance is better altogether. By adjusting the levels, the colours began to show through, the sun flare on the ground disappeared, the silhouettes deepened and became clearer and more marked. I added a touch of contrast and a frame. The first mod is without the frame. I hope you like it.
