Welcome to EPZ Darryl. Thats one enormous carp in your portfolio shot!

This is a really good effort, - well worth persisting to get it right. The bonus is definitely that red sunset, making it a unique shot. Im guessing that this was handheld, no tripod, and that its turned out so well as its frozen by the flash.

Good work

Regards

Willie

What a very cool shot - the lighting is spot just enough to pick out the spider detail. Like the slightly threatening but featureless bg which serves to really set the subject up.

There are a couple of horizonal bands running through the bg that are perhaps a little distracting (have you cloned something out?) but no great problem tbh.

Thank you for your welcome comments, i had not noticed the horizontal banding, closer inspection of the photo and other pictures of the spider confirm that it is the strands of the cobweb, not yet skilled enough to remove or enhance them.
cheers
