Flash was kind enough to stay put this morning when I caught him basking in this ray of sunlight.

I hope you like this, as Flash was quite pleased with the result.

Thanks for looking and thanks for votes and comments on my Passiflora image.

Critique is welcome - I figure if I can hand it out, I should be able to take it also Wink

We have a 3-day weekend over on this side of the pond, so I will catch up with you in a few days. Thanks for looking, but by all means don't open the large version.

Anne

I think this is teriffic. A little noisy in the larger version in the darker areas, but not to the point of putting me off. Although I think the blend from coulour to shadow areas is a bit harsh.

Love this shot - obviously taken by a cavalier photographer!! Breaks all the rules but still works a real treat. No rules about only lighting a cat from the front - when back lighting like this works so well. The shaft of light entering the darken room (from the assumed partly opened back door) backlighting this subject is spot on.

No hesitation giving this shot a click, smashing.

Dave.

Willie thanks for the mod - I see you've made it completely square (I hesitated to crop so close to the other paw), and warmed it up.
I should probably upload the original shot - I duotoned this one and then put back the sunlit areas with selective color.

As I've said before, I consider modifications a great compliment, as they show interest. Also, it's a great way to learn.

I keep coming back to look at this shot. Itís that shaft of light from the top right backlighting this subject that appeals to me. I especially like the light as it lands on the cats head backlighting the whiskers and the cats hair together with the light running up the ears with the rest of the face moving into the darkness. With 101 votes also needs one of those award things to finish off the job correctly. Well done and deserves it.

Dave.

Our parrot also likes to bathe in the sun in the morning. I like the warm colours and the way the sun has just caught the eye.
