well I went out Saturday night and a strange light came in front of my camera ……was it a chinese lantern a firework? no it was the meteor that fell last night ..the fireball twas a wondrous sight to witness

where were you while we were getting high

I have just had an email from The Meteor Director from the Society for Popular Astronomy (who is using this image for major research) who says we witnessed one of the more rarest events on the night we shot together in Birmingham, with Rip Rap as well ..... it only was flying for about 60 seconds and we saw all of it Smile
Such naturally-occurring very long-lived meteors happen-by perhaps only a few times per century for any given place, so this was a most fortunate sighting for the witnesses
