Lynne and I walked out of an alleyway by the Rialto Bridge and this was the first thing I saw on the Grand Canal, complete with the 'driver' in DHL uniform. What a surprise! But when I thought about it 'obvious' was the only word - there are no roads! The only downside was this was the rainy day and we'd decided to leave the big stuff back at the hotel, so it had to be the iPhone. (Sorry Lilian!) But all the others were taken with my Canon 450D and it became a bit of a theme for Lynne, Trevor and myself.

It does come as a shock to see all the vehicles you normal associate with wheeled transport in the form of boats and barges, but Hey, that's Venice for you. The iPhone has done a pretty good job here and I love the frames.

Well Garrath, certainly hope that V2 was not for you after you hijacked the barge in V3, Smile
And have to say that the iphone certainly did a good job there for your lead image

Great to see a different aspect from Venice, Garrath, I should think their DHL deliveries take about as long as they do here in Crete Grin. A fine, interesting set. Carol

A great set Garrath, something quite different to the usual touristy shots. It reminded me of a new half hour six part series which started last Wednesday on BBC4 at 20:30, called "Venice24/7" about the emergency services on Venice (and the surrounding islands), which shows Venice as the public don't normally get to see.

Lynne mentioned the series last night. Going to see if I can find part one on the iPlayer. Lynne and I actually passed the Venice Hospital A&E entrance with half a dozen ambulance boats moored outside. Can't believe I didn't think to take a photo!

Good set of shots Garrath. I did actually see an ambulance boat go screaming up the Grand Canal. Will have to see if I can dig it out. Moira

Good one Garrath. Usually looking in on Lynnes captures I never thought her better half
was in on the act too. Mine hasn't a clue with a camera let alone a iphone.
I like your selection here. Down to earth jobs to be done stuff.
Your crowd certainly has a great holiday. Loved all the shots……….

Always fascinating to see the differences around the world Smile McDonald's, for example, offers packets of jalapeno chilli sauce in Mexico when you order stuff. Wish we had that here Sad

LOVE the light, colour and perspective in V4, by the way.
