I took this image whilst walking on The Long Mynd in Shropshire. A blizzard suddenly descended and on the way down we came across a herd of Welsh Ponies.
f9, 1/640th sec, IS) 500.
I have increased the contrast and brightness in Photoshop.

What a wonderful sight, Jean, and you captured it well. A great atmosphere, and the viewer cannot help but feel sorry for the animals.
Your ponies are a little tight in the frame, and I'd prefer to see some space on either side. Incidentally, I notice that in the image submitted to competition, you do have space at the sides, and so I assume you have cropped this one.
You have lost some definition on the left side of the image, which is a shame because the element that captures my attention first is the head of the horse as it nuzzles the one far left. All the tails are sharp, but I'd have loved that head to be sharp too. It's obviously a shame that most of them had their backs to you, but you have to take what you can get in a situation like this.
Pamela.
Hi Pam,
Thank you very much for your constructive critisism, which I will take on board and learn from. I have not been an active member of Ephotozine for a while (I intend to be in the future!) and forgot that I already had this image iin my gallery. and the one I uploaded was cropped to fit a 7x5" format for a card! Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
