this is an old image from Dunraven bay, on the South Wales Coast.

Whist the foreground adds some interest in image number two, it for be distracts ones eye from the wider composition. The 13second exposure has added an almost serene looking calmness over the otherwise choppy waters, whilst the colour adds warmth to the image beautifully.

I think I prefer v2, Ant, the horizon on the upper third just looks more balanced. The silhouetted figure is an excellent addition.

V1 all the way for me. The foreground rock in V2 is too imposing without any light on it.

If it's about the contemplative figure then it has to be v1 for me but both compositions work well imho.
