Rivington, Bolton.

I know I said the last was the last reflection but I found this amongst my Rivington photographs and loved the reflections and tangled knots of branches!

My favourite parts are the slight ripples on the water mid-way up on the right. Probably one of the few clues to say it is a reflection. Along with the big tree branch on the right which was in my way! I suppose I could have cloned it out and maybe when I have some more time I shall try it.

All I did post production here was crop, frame and alter the contrast slightly.

Makes a superb abstract which would only work in mono.

An excellent reflection shot that might even work as a pure abstract when rotated through 90° - there is no background beyond the trees themselves so no risk of disorientation. Leafless trees have such wonderful shapes; when intermingled like this they present a mysterious and slightly eerie atmosphere.

What a beautifully crisp and complex tangle this makes. This has so much more going for it than a flipped photo as all the little variations of point of view that come with a true reflection add enormously to the interest. I don't feel that the extra branch detracts significantly from the image, which is just as well as I feel that cloning it out would be extremely difficult to pull off successfully.
I love the look of this, and as I have a coveted Blue Diamond going spare this is the perfect place for it. Smile
