After a bit of decorating, I managed to get out and enjoy the little sunshine we had today. The butterflies are starting to look a little tatty now, this Gatekeeper has a chunk missing from its wing!
We have a huge buddleia bush, I've noticed there are no butterflies on it this year! Last year it was covered in Peacocks, Red Admirals etc., not this year - nothing!
I haven't replaced the background, the flower was in a small patch of sunshine with the dark wood behind.

A top quality close up Karen, the black background works so well, was that your camera bag?
I managed to get out and enjoy the good weather this morning, the chalkhill blues are about in good numbers at Crickley Hill which is a few miles from where I live, but I was most surprised to see the marbled whites still around in good numbers, albeit many looking very worn and tatty and a ringlet. No sign yet of the walls or the 2nd generation common blues
Thank you everyone for your c&c's. ![]()
No Ed, the background is just deep shadow in amongst the trees. ![]()
Very disappointing butterfly numbers here, not very surprising considering all the rain we've had!
glad to make it 30... it must have been in the brambles.
