Back in the Dark Ages I had a long ride on the footplate of a main-line steam locomotive that included tea made in such a fashion. Can't remember what it tasted like, but it was searing hot ![]()

looks familiar -not that I know anything about steam strains, but it is the same in a lot of workshops!
