One of the first photos taken with the pocket digicam I won in the White competition. No post processing, except for re-sizing and saving for web, obviously. The settings the camera chose (no manual possible on this camera, unfortunately) were 1/125, f. 9 and 65 ISO.

Do you think it has trouble focusing, or is this simply the most quality I can expect from a small cam like this - what do you think?

Thanks for looking,

Conrad

Edit: Forgot - this is the Mormon temple in Zoetermeer, near The Hague, in the Netherlands. Polished granite exterior.

Actually, the lack of quality I thought I detected in PhotoShop doesn't seem to really show here, not even in the large version (346 K).

I read a review of this camera, mainly because I use an olympus, anyways - apparently listed amongst its "bad" areas was slight soft focus and barrel distortion.

Edit: oops forgot to click because compositionally its a good shot, though a touch soft, would have liked to have seen more detail in the architecture. Click

Ah, not just me, then. Thanks, Chant - at least I know what to expect now.

Hi Conrad. Not a bad image for an auto only compact cam. I have an Olympus E500 and I find it benefits from some sharpening in P.S.

Thanks for your most recent comments. I will retouch that neg. when I have some time. ..Phil

Thanks, Phil - my old Rollei compact digicam did a better job at taking sharp pictures, to be honest, but I can't complain - after all, I didn't pay for this one...

I didn't do any post processing on this shot because I wanted people to see it as it came from the camera - well, as much as possible, considering I did have to re-size it and save it for the Web.

Good luck with the retouching!

Hello Conrad.
Not bad at all. Think a bit more light (with Picasa?) will do good in it.

Thanks, Jan, but I didn't want to mess with a test image, just wanted to show it as it came out.
