Hi all, and many thanks to all who kindly voted and commented on my 'What In The wood's?'.
Something rather different again this time. This lone Fairy sits and watches over a lovely old Thatched Cottage in Bosham, West Sussex. Once I'd spotted Her, I just had to take a couple of pic's, and here they are. Hope you enjoy, and have a good Week everyone.

John Smile

How deliciously bizarre! A fine piece of whimsy on someone's part and beautifully captured by you.
She looks like a Good Fairy too.
Regards
Bill

Have to say John.
Not the prettiest girl you have uploaded !!
She looks like something out of the film Copse Bride !!
Good shots.

Well spotted that man. Have seen shedloads of thatched roofs, but never seen anything like this...must be unique. Delightfully quirky.

I love fairies and agree with Barbara, she would sit well with the other fairies in my garden.
Thatched roof ornaments or thatching finials are very common. and it's a very old tradition. I didn't know an awful lot about them, just got interested when I found some strange ones myself, so googled for "thatching trademark figures". This makes interesting reading.

Thank you SO much Pam, a very interesting read, and all rather fascinating Smile
And James, I think you'll find this one if you walk down the Lane behind the little Cafe' down by the quay, and keep going til you come to a corner, and the Thatched Cottage is off to your right. Hope I've got it right, only went there once and my memory isn't the best Smile
