A late afternoon run along the Coast road from West Bay (or Broadchurch as it has becme known!)

The evening was drawing in and I happened to glance over my shoulder as we were driving home - I saw this sunset and it was going fast. I was able to pull over and took several shots - THIS one surprised me!

NO manipulation apart from a slight contrast change and there is that "bird" flying up!

Well, I normally think these are just pictures of a nice sky, but this is really a bit more than that. Huge impact and very well technically handled. All of you that put sunrise/sunset images up for crit. If you are not going to put a subject in, this is how they should look.

Hello Paul

Many thanks for your comments - very much appreciated as I had a feeling this was a pretty fair attempt. It seems to often be the case that timing and luck" is everything in some cases!

Thank you

Mike

Hello Pichound

Good to hear from you - I see you're a new member like myself.

I read a photo booklet yesterday and it said that being in the right place at the right time is key to a lot of the best and THAT is just what happened here!

Many thanks

Mike
