Went to Avebury today around midday - and got this shot almost immediately. The light was rather strange - but dramatic.

I was struck by the number of 2's I could see :o) as well as the contrasting tones.

See the colour image in the mods - which do you prefer? I decided on the MONOCHROME image as it was more interesting visually (to me anyway).

Wondering why the comment I added days ago isn't here.
Roughly, what I said was

Shame the ancients had no eye for photographic detail or they would have planted that tree further to the left so you could get some separation between it and the stones
