Plucked up the courage to visit an old Asylum in Mid Wales yesterday.
An eerie but sad place to be.
I didn't stay long....

Didn't realise there would be this much barrel distortion on the close end of the Sigma. But it actually adds a certain degree of claustrophobia to the shot.
You've brought out an amazing amount of texture too [hdr or just carefully processed, single RAW?] which further contributes to the effect.
The downside to that is that the lighting is a bit 'flat'. It would be interesting to see how it would look with more eerie, crepuscular lighting.
Can't say I blame you for not wanting to stick around for too long though...

Bet the Rev liked it though!! ![]()
Nice work mate. Is Reflektor still alive!!
You would go mad if you stayed in there for too long you have captured the atmosphere well
Susan
Given this 24 hours now and a few looks...undecided as I am with a lot of this stuff to be honest....its well processed, excellent textures and some good depth to it but think Chris' comments above have hit upon something....some vignetting praps?
PS If I could have clicked your Elgol again instead I would have but can't so will click this ![]()
You wuss!!!! One of my favourite places to visit where my imagination and use of camera was held by no barriers. This is a good shot and the unintentioned use of the barreling of the lens just reinforces the perception that one is looking into a forbidden / forgotten place.
Top marks.
BTW, this will look VERY good in mono. Give it a go, you might be surprised!
