Morning light illuminates the bothy at Dubbs Quarry in the Lake District. Our final destination before turning back was the top of Haystacks, sitting in the shadows here.

Quote: One of my favorite walks in the LD !!

.. I have not done much of the higher walking myself, but of all the higher walks I have done, I have to say I agree its beautiful up here, so much to look at and take photos of (of course!) that it's top of my list too..
...as for knackered old limbs.. well that would describe me and the Rug! haha! But stubborn-ness about wanting to get the shots pushed us up there Smile

An image of both beauty and wonderment. One can only imagine the hardship of living in such and alien and desolate environment

I'd love to be up there, just not sure about the process of getting there. Anybody got a helicopter? Wink

Wonderful photo, Jeanie. Dramatic light and shadow, and intriguing foreground interest too.

Great PoV, the huts are dominated by their surroundings, especially the dark hillside. Some lovely light and shadow creating high contrast. Looks like a good walk!
