This is another of my favourites, taken just after i got to southerndown. love the movement in the waves and lighting in this one.
Whilst searching the net, i came across this beautiful poem...
The Breaking Waves
Calm and clear, a sunny noon-
The waves are coming fast-
Crashing quick, they come so soon-
Like an enchantment cast.
Standing barefoot in the sand-
I smell the salty air-
Upon the shore of my homeland-
The waves do meet me there.
They break away around my feet-
And then pass by behind me-
On softened sand, it forms a sheet-
Where sorrow cannot find me.
The water cold between my toes-
And rising past my shin-
And like in life, the highs and lows-
But still as one within.
The ocean, like my spirit swaying-
At times both fierce and steady-
Not just another person praying-
For life now, I am ready.
