Another shot from my recent trip to the Camargue, this time given the high key treatment which I hope has worked? Comments and criticisms are very welcome.
Sorry not to have been on the site much but I'm up to my neck in projects, so don't feel you have to vote for my images as I won't have time to look at yours at the moment I'm afraid.

Yoo-hoo Ann.

Yes, kinda works. Smile
If you'd gone with a slightly slower shutter you might have got more of a feeling of movement in the spray, but you may not have wanted that, and it's pretty good anyway. Hard thing to judge, on the spot.
Hope your RPS project is progressing OK.

Nice shot, and good use of that EPZ background.

If you faded the sides a bit with that same colour it would blend in completely as one image.

I'm not convinced by "high key" here, for me it looks blotchy. High key doesn't work well with dark blacks against white.
We are so used to seeing great images and well processed from you, I'd prefer to see this processed in your "normal" mode.
Sometimes we try too hard. Can I ask what you think?

Thanks for your honesty Dougie. Tim Manakee who organised the holiday had done some similar processing to one of his pictures and I thought I'd try too as I really liked it. I'm not really sure what I'm doing but thought I'd have a go. I do like the effect but maybe I haven't quite got it right. I have lots of pictures but haven't had time to upload them here - mostly processed conventionally. Brian Curtis tried to do a modification but said he wasn't able to upload it for some reason, so maybe others have had the same problem. Thanks again for your continuing interest! Hope you're well? Smile

To be honest, I don't care whether you look at my stuff or not, I'm voting on this image because it's good and I like it Grin I'm not sure about the white background as I think the image itself gets slightly lost within it, but I still really the treatment you've given it.

It was not an upload problem Ann - Photoshop or Capture could not open the image because the profile was not recognized.

The bulls are quite dark, Ann, and lacking in a bit of detail (on my monitor) but the idea is very good. I've tried a mod, lightening the darks and fading the image edge.

Hope you're keeping well. Do any of these projects bring you up town?

Thanks Dave - your mod has certainly brought out some detail lacking in my image! No, I'm not going to get up to London in the near future sadly, but if I do, I'll let you know. Hope you're well?

I like the high key processing and for me the amount of detail visible in the bulls isn't an issue. I think the problem for me is the lack of separation and visible bull silhouette. Its still good though. Hope that's useful Anne.

Beautifully shot and processed, Ann Smile

I've done a Mod, just lightening the bulls a bit and adding a light grey border. Don't know if that makes it better, though...lol Smile
