This was one of the first images I took with my new camera and I did have to zoom in quite a bit.

I was standing in a field next to the cricket ground where I sometimes take my dog for a walk. A few years ago, from this point you could actually see the Church and the Town Hall (minus McDonald's) but now the Town Hall is obscured by 3 storey houses and apartments, not to mention McDonald's with a very busy main road in between the field and the Church.

Perhaps I am getting old and grumpy but I really don't like these changes to my town where I have lived all my life.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention that the cricket ground is being moved from where it has been for years and years to make room for a Sainsburys!

Your message comes through loud and clear in this image Sandra. This sort of thing seems to be happening all over the country. Pictures speak louder than words. Well done.

Yes, this picture talks to us - it is the same all over the world, I think. It has nothing to do with getting old and grumpy, believe me. This image is very well composed, the new is loud and glaring, the old getting grey and nebulous. Good seen and beautifully captured.

Nice bit of photo journalism there Sandra - needs no explanation. Some modernisation is good - but moving a cricket pitch ....

I think we're seeing too many changes due to the Church of McD's (and others). Good image, good statement

I agree with you, I think there will be no green belt land left before long, it a pity that a nice looking church is next to something a garish as a big mac sign
Well put over image
