Cold and Dark on the Moor at 7.00am in the morning -3dgs with some ice forming on the loch. I had to use a torch to manually focus on the middle rock, and an exposure time of 8sec to get this result.I think it was worth the effort and cold hands, I would be interested on your thoughts. (Who says photographers are Mad). My thanks to everyone for your time to view and for your very kind comments on my previous images. they are very much appreciated. Bill.

You've captured the coldness well, Bill, with the blue tones and ice.

It doesn't need the ice on the surface to tell how cold it was.......it just emanates from the screen: and what a superb shot it is, the Moor wearing it's winter coat, and despite the cold, the appearance is much more appealing than the colours of summer.

These guys are all old friends of mine Bill, Hamish out there in the middle of the little bay has smiled and moved around for me many times. It's always worth the effort I've found, the moor is a living breathing beast that needs visiting and nurturing. It's one of Scotland's grand places, as you found.

Much as I loved the whole area I doubt if I could have borne the cold - so all power to you
for persevering the cold and using a torch to help achieve a superb image.
