We have been to Provence twice to see this spectacle. First time we arrived they had cut !! the crop. So this year we went early, but due to the late cold Spring the lavender was late !!!! So we were there for a week and the weather warmed 26 degree's !! and we did find some colour on the lower slopes. Mind you we drove 2200 miles !!!!

Bet the scent was superb too: like where you have placed the join between the two parts on the upper quarter, Ron.
The patterns created make for an eye catching image.
R.

Regimented lines of wonderful colour, and no doubt a heady aroma. Has always been on my bucket list - the lavender fields of Provence! When I did my 4,000 mile road trip last year it was too late for lavender and the fields and fields of sunflowers I passed while driving through France, were well past their best 😔. Lovely image Ron.

A stunning composition, the chevron lines of purple reminding me of a peacocks feather. Simply superb.

I'd love to see a small-aperture variation, with really deep DoF (an appropriate term for a shot of fields...)

However, I note the long lens and the ISO/shutter combination you used: so a tripod would have been absolutely necessary!

What a beautiful sight and shot Ron. The only time I've seen lavender fields was in Minot, ND several years back. The wind was blowing and the fields looked like water with movement.
