Even better than 'Crouching Tiger' and that's saying something! Outstanding once again and I am so pleased that you've been awarded an EC for this Si!

biggest congrats on those awards.lesley
Huge congratulations Simon POTW well done and well deserved
Stunning photograph, wonderful colours ............Rob
Yey ! Really Chuft EC and POTW. Thanks Pete and EPZ ! Especially sweet because this trip to China was quite testing with the rain pouring down most mornings on the Li River ( 1st week)with me trying to set my tripod up around 6 in the morning with the fishermans boat moving back and forth on the river. The second week was slightly different with me moving to a rural village ( Wu's Village) around 5 hours from Yangshuo. However the mozzies loved me here, and was bitten many times and I felt like a zombie walking around cos I felt quite ill. Anyway all good! Regards Simon
POTW - more congrat's Simon!
This will look stunning on canvas, very well done & most deserved !!
wow, this is so superb, it looks like a painting, may i ask how you achieved the effect.
This is amazing, love that light and the whole mood you have managed to capture.
Thanks Msweich for UA!.. And Ian this is just a straight shot in low light but probably enhanced by the low light and glow from lamp.
Congratulations on POTW Si, just had to be really
Well done, mate.
Exposure etc is spot on.
While you're answering questions then Si what sort of focal length were you shooting these at, I assume the guy is not that far out???
POTW.....Can't argue with that, as I said earlier an outstanding image....
Hi Darren, I used a 28-70mm Nikon Lens..but probably captured this around 50mm or standard lens focal length. The fisherman was around 5 feet from me.
Cheers Si and once again congratulations, top shot.
Congrat's Si ... So very well deserved ....
"So pleased for you"..

Hey Sarah thank you so much for UA! Means alot
Very well done
Most impressive. This shot looks like fantasy artwork. Engrossing and mysterious. Well done.
Wonderful capture. Light is wonderful. Great processing.
This must have been taken in Guilin China where the fishermen use the Cormorants
to catch the fish, there necks have a string around there throats to stop them from
swallowing the fish but they do get fed at the end of the day, I was there some years
ago and wish an image like this was possible, wonderful photo, captures the moment
perfectly, to take a photo like this doe's not come around very often, well done, look
forward to seeing more of your Images.
These images of the fishermen are stunning you really should be going professional. Is it possible to buy any of these photographs?
Brilliant shot Si. This is up there with your best. The lighting is breathtaking. You really have to live a shot like this and your descriptions of the journey measure up perfectly.
Hey Martin, thank you so much for your UA! Means alot
This certainly deserves photo of the week. Well done
...I don't always agree with Pete's choice for POTW...but he sure got it right this time.
Thanks alot Mike for the UA!
let me add my contracts to all the others. very well done indeed.
...I don't understand how this amazing picture can earn POTW but not be "Highly Commended".
If it's the given weeks best picture and I'm sure it is then surely it follows that it warrants a "Highly Commended" too.
.....c'mon Pete...get it right
Amazing photograph, you have captured a wonderful moment, the lantern shows it is still very early but have still managed to get the limestone karsts in the background and of course the cormorant. Have been there but missed this guy!
