A bit of fun today (as it's Sunday!), and a different type of entertainer to the wonderful ladies and gentlemen who have kept us enthralled at the Olympics. I have sourced some old free-to-use black and white images and have been "hand" colouring them using layer upon layer in Photoshop. It has been a most enjoyable exercise, even though it takes hours to achieve, and the images have been well received in other circles so I thought I'd share one with you. I have uploaded the original black and white image - they certainly took some wonderful photographs all those years ago! Anyway, I hope you enjoy my coloured version.

Thank you for your support and comments, and also for all your good wishes - luckily the test results were negative for Salmonella, it was just a nasty bout of food poisoning, and I am much better now.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Carol

A clever and creative bit of tinkering here, Carol: very nicely done and your version has retained it's olde worlde charm and character so well.

Beautifully done. I have done this with some old photos of my own so I know just how long it takes.

Superb work Carol.
Can't begin to imagine how you do these, but a beautiful result.
The original is amazing -wonder how much dark room work went into those.

Sheer delight, that what I felt as I came across these two remarkable worked images, simply stunning, depicting an era of which has long gone.

What a brilliant idea colouring old photo's and what a wonderful result.
I can imagine the layers.I would say you had to use a gentle "brush" so as not to over do her.

Would she have ever imagined herself in colour ?
Theres a reaction I'd love to see,,
Pretty lady she is to,,,

Superb Carol is what I am thinking,,
