I wonder if you know this image , by Bert (HenriAntoine as was here). There are so many resonances. The child's curiosity and spirit of adventure, the adult's instinct to protect...

I agree the consonance with Bert, though your photo is perhaps gutsier, more 21st-century realism (concrete-jungle environment, even though I'm a bit of an old softy.....) while the surrounding geometry you depict is rather more challenging.
There is something indomitable about the figure of the child, a desire for progress regardless of the consequences. The raised foot is so meaningful in that respect, almost challenging us to follow.
Somehow a colour photograph just would not have the same impact.
Excellent in every way.

Many Thanks.

It's funny when you look back at images from several years ago that you found inspirational at the time. They're still as great to look at several years on. Glad you liked this one, thanks again ...

I had been looking at Klavdij Sluban's work recently In a magazine and thought I'd try and shoot more lowkey gritty images - under exposing most of the image to get silhouettes etc

You are absolutely right about inspiration.
Thinking of which, I'm off to investigate Klavdij Sluban right now.
