...they are calling me away. I wonder how the weather is on Skye these days, this was taken on my last trip, it's similar to one I processed at the time.

'Over the sea to Skye . . . '

Two distinct sets of contrasts: Up / down (light) and left / right (weather). All within one image. Remarkable.

Waves of cloud rolling over, feel the momentum. I've been on the top when that happens but that was back in 1976.

Good for you Moira, that's a big pointy mountain even if you were a youngster at the time.

I always find it interesting to read others' comments as I sometimes find it hard to come up with inspired comments. Today, I feel Bill (woolybill1) hasn't the nail on the head with his remarks. All I could add would be that as always your composition is so well thought out, Dougie. I can just imagine your viewing this image again will have you planning your next trip up to the misty isle.
Ronnie.

Magical clouds - as only seen in Scotland - and some great light in the distance.

Beautifully captured, the landscape is just a supporting cast to that sky.

A fine balanced composition Dougie. A beautiful cloudscape and soft pink light brushing the mountains.

I agree with Bill and it has some very interesting cloud detail.
This location is one of my favourites, it is always different and you never know what it will be like until you start to drop down that final hill to the harbour.

Magnificently moody, Dougie.
The contrasts in the light and sky are terrific, giving such variety to different areas of the image.
