Works because of the tight crop! A curious image, open to different interpretations - and I know exactly where you were, it's one of my favourite people-watching view points.

Intriguing. A strong diagonal crop gives a lovely mysterious image.

It really makes you think and wonder.
the crop is so good as there is nothing included but her and her table, you just get a glimpse to guess that there are probably many other tables with even more lonely people!

She seems to be meditating, or seeking inspiration. Was the choice on the menu that good? Did she suddenly remember something sad?
Great image, like it a lot. Questions rather than answers.
