Alison & I had a fantastic day out yesterday...Urbexing !
We had heard of this place but never thought we would get in...for a whole 6 hours...just us & the pigeons...wicked !!
Everything here is in a time warp, loads of things left around & some great dark places to explore.
This tiny office was up a couple of flights of ricketty stairs, the light was minimal but very effective.
Once there must have been a fabulous view from this place,a hive of activity.
An HDR image,5 frames each 1 stop apart, combined & tonemapped in Photomatix, finished in Photoshop.
I have never seen so much pigeon poop in one place...poooooooo ! ![]()
Thanks for taking the time to look.

Lol Chris....I guess the foreman would have been in charge of the tea-making facilities.....and the lighting arrangements I suppose ![]()
There is also a proper ink pen on the desk too,one that you had to dip into the bottle of ink stood on the desk...sadly no inkwell to be found ![]()
Very subtle Jan and just the right balance of light and dark .... if in doubt then err on the dark side. Love those hazy views through the windows, though that said I am something of a window anorak. Funny but the kettle and light bulb are really quite important .... wouldn't be half the image without them.
Surely though, you can't do Urbex out in the sticks? Maybe you've invented a new genre of photography ...... Rurex.
Interesting to know how you've been doing these wonderful images Janet as I've been toying around with having a stab at something similar! Purely because you've inspired me to try something different, see how you've impressed me!......Anyway's I haven't as yet had the time to get out there and do anything as yet, although I have been playing around and getting my head used to Photomatrix. So as they say watch this space, who knows what might happen.......LOL
