I took this photograph at Kurukshetra, a very sacred place in Indian history. The Sadhu sitting on the doorsteps against an ancient building attracted my attention. I took this photo at 7omm, f9 exp 1/400, hand held - lens Tamron 18-270 pzd. I had to correct some perspective distortion in photoshop.

Good shot, and you have retained a lot of detail considering how bright the conditions are.
You haven't quite finished the perspective correction, as the RHS is still slightly off, and being really picky, you are just off-centre by a whisker (look at the arch in the background).
The figure makes the interest though, and it's good that he's engaging you directly.
You could maybe take the contrast down a little, but it conveys the bright sun very well.

Really nice. I'll be putting up some shots I took in wonderful India where I was until Monday this week. This conveys the feeling of the place so well, with the high sun playing on the red stone and turning it into a radiator. This reminds me of Fatepur Sikri.

Its a nice shot. It must be difficult to deal with such strong sunlight. The image looked to need some reduction in contrast when viewed in Photoshop, especially the highlights needed to be toned down a little, - which Ive done, but when I upload the mod it looks quite the same!. I did a little more straightening, but its minor. I think maybe the image is small so the changes made are hardly noticeable.

I do hope you also zoomed in closer for a shot of the Sadhu.

Regards

Willie

You have nice symmetry on the building, Deep, but the Sadhu acts to nicely break that up, and I feel that, without him, the image would simply be a record shot of the ancient building, though very well done. The contrasts of shadow and light are very effective, especially in the centre where the eye is led through to the other side of the building.
It is good that you engaged the attention of your subject because that also engages the attention of the viewer.
Pamela.

As everyone says a lovely image captured under harsh conditions, my only wish is that you recovered some of the detail from within the central archways and upper doors as they are very dark. In my mod I have lightened the shadows in those areas and slightly straightened the image.

Well done a nice overall image.
