Came across these amazing cairns on the side of the road travelling upto Skye last June.
Whatever the original purpose of a cairn being in this location I do not know.....but it was obvious that over the years people have stopped by and added their own stones and little offerings. Stood on that mountainside all alone except for the elements, I coulden't help but wander where all those people where right now....probably scatterd all around the world.....that had left a little bit of themselves forever in Scotland.
Ofcourse, I left a stone for myself when I left.....so now there will always be a little bit of me there too
