Love the POV and composition Ann, shadows are excellent, but I think a touch more contrast would make this even better.

Trev.
A great shot and composition. Love the swan but prefer the light in V2
Susan
V2 conveys the light better - but why clone out the swan???

I didnt it disappeared in a cloud of photoshop and not knowing what I was doing![]()
Thanks for the pm - you've found the swan again! As you mentioned, V3 does look over-sharpened to me, particularly in the foreground reeds - but I don't share the current obsession with sharpening.
Moira
Hi Ann
V3 is better, you only had to open in Photoshop and go to Brightness and Contrast and just slightly adjust the contrast to make a difference.

Trev.

I know Trev but I was trying to be clever![]()
Nicely composed image Ann, I did decide for a change as you have four versions to read all the other comments. As it is I pretty much agree with everything Moira has said, version two for me has a much more balanced look regarding the light, V3 is definitely way over sharpened to the point its distracting. Unfortunately all digital images require some sharpening especially if you are shooting raw, personally I don't do any of the sharpening in the raw converter, rather I use the unsharp mask tool in Photoshop, I believe it gives you more control. Still everyone will have their own views on that, but for me V2 works the best, a well composed and well balanced image.
Best Matt
Gosh Ann, so many choices, so many decisions. I'm with Ronnie on this - prefer the lower light levels and the swan. The actual composition is really good, has a lovely balance to it.

A superbly composed riverscape Ann, v1 is by far the most natural and the best.
Quote: Very nicely composed shot, Ann: love the slightly lower light levels in V 1 and the overall warmth of the scene, so it's V 1 for me.
Completely agree with Ronnie.
