My contribution for Silly Sunday.
Scarecrow Festivals are held in a number of towns and villages across the UK and are a fun way to involve the community and provide stimulus to local tourism. It was a grand annual event when I lived on Hayling Island so I thought I'd show you a few of the amusing entries.
To help find the hundreds of stuffed characters, a special Scarecrow Trail is created for visitors to try and spot all the creations made by the Islanders.
There are awards for the best scarecrows in a number of categories, and locals make the scarecrows for display in gardens, rooftops, shops and even at the local police station.
Inevitably, some get vandalised, which is very sad.

V2: drunk in a hammock.
V3: children escaping from a nursery school.
V4: girl climbing a wall.
