A personal spotlight for one lonely umbrella.
Moira
Yes, Moira's comment is spot on. I also like the strong contrasts between the light and dark in this one.
We woke to -3C this AM, but no snow. The snow might make me feel like a kid again.........maybe....
Anne
Snow makes me feel like a child again, too.
I always hated the cold, wet white stuff, especially when my father taught my brother to stuff handfuls of it down my neck. I still hate it ![]()
BUT - I have to agree that it makes for some excellent photographic ideas, this being one. It seems to be gathering in a deliberate shower just below the lamp, ready to pounce on the umbrella. A film noir treatment for the unfortunate person below!
Excellent LB work, Francesco.
Regards
Bill
I like the image. the processing is great. The tone is really "noir". I can't work out why the lights on the doors/windows are so blurred at the sides of the image though? How do you get that effect ?... Peter
I really like photography like this. Really nice, Well done.
Mick
Thank you all
Peter, the shot was taken with a Lensbaby lens (if you google it, you'll find the Lensbaby homepage with plenty of details about these lenses). There's no PS effect at all.
in few words the lense focuses only one point whitin the frame of the camera and not a plane as in 'normal' lenses. the rest of the image is radially blurred towards the focus point, aka sweet spot.
thanks for asking
francesco
