An early start this morning saw us on Loughrigg Terrace about an hour before sunrise. We were thrilled to see the inversion below us and were more than happy to wait for quite sometime for the sun to creep over the tops of the fells and begin to light up the valley.

Worth it, though, methinks - hope you agree Smile

The mist was coming and going all morning, and it was quite amazing to see trees appear through it - easy to imagine that underneath all that was just water!

**Health warning** - I took dozens upon dozens of images from here - you might just get sick of them! Wink

Thanks for calling in - have a great evening - my only downside to our Anniversary sojourn is that i appear to have developed an abscess under one of my teeth, so a trip to the emergency dentist is now on the cards for later!! Sad

HUGE Thanks to my wonderful hubbie for a brilliant 1st Anniversary trip! Grin

You were very lucky to have the opportunity to photograph such an incredible sight. This low lying mist / cloud is stunning. The mist and path create wonderful lead through lines. I may have cropped a slither off the sky as the amount isn't adding anything. Colours are gentle and muted. I would be tempted to touch the contrast but only very slightly to maintain that ethereal look but pull out some land detail. A lovely shot.

Beautiful Fran. That patch of slightly clearer mist in the centre allows the eye to see the trees and the sun just catching the leaves.

Lovely bit of light flooding down that valley to catch the low lying mist. Glad you had a good 1st!
