Thanks for the comments.
Anil, I composed this tightly so that none of the associated clutter was was viewable. The background was part of the machine gun, and was in shadow with little detail visible. To concentrate attention on the bullets I simply adjusted the levels to darken a little more, still keeping details in the bullets.
