Taken just after the first sprinkling of snow, the Water Meadows are one of my favourite places to walk during my lunch hour. This is a tone-mapped shot, 3 images +/-1EV.
Bury Mount, on the right of the picture in front of St Laurence's church, is a Norman motte and bailey castle and has been very popular this week for sledging! It was bald within 3 days.
The Water Meadows themselves are part of the old Easton Neston estate, now in public ownership to protect them from development. Unfortunately, Moat Lane itself is due for extensive development within the next couple of years, and most of the properties to be demolished have already been compulsorily purchased - many of them now derelict.
A quick thank you for the comments and votes on my New Year shot.
