Nice but maybe you could have tried zooming out a bit. I think the crop is a little too close.
I really like your previous picture of the bridge, Les.
As to this one, you have included some strong shapes and lines, have good detail and shadows, and an attractive sky that has a few little clouds but not enough to distract from your image. Your diagonal lines look nice the straight.
I would like to have seen a bit more of the bridge at the top and left. The arched shape stops at the top frame edge and part of it is cut off.
I like the way you have placed the top right diagonal into the corner, but would prefer a crop to that side with the bottom of the curve going into bottom right corner.
Going for a small part of the detail of the bridge is a good idea, emphasizing its structure and shape, and you had some nice light at the time of shooting.
If this is a crop of a larger shot, you could have a winner by cropping differently.
Pamela.

Its super sharp and well exposed. It is a close crop. and for people who know the bridge this may be a little too close. But for people like me who have no reference, it can work, and I would suggest and even closer, more abstract crop, as in my mod as a possibility.

Willie
hi
i think we have to forget the bridge and the fact it is a bridge since it has lost its context and see if it works as an abstract reliant only upon the shapes and colours remaining.
the colours are nice and saturated without being overdone. its sharp all over and there isnt any clutter to distract and the shapes are harmonious and follow the rules of thirds and curves which often helps the strength of an image.
what is particularly nice is the way that things spring to corners like the top right and top left and the way the perspective has the suspension wires decreasing in centres as they recess.
on the down side id have preffered to see both walls of the tube as it completes its arc at the top of frame but othere than that i really like the graphic qualities of the image.
regards
Phil

Thanks to all of you for your comments, suggestions and advice, most welcome.I wasn't trying to show it as a bridge it was more an effort in showing the lines and curves against the contrast of the sky,by the comments i feel I almost got there but not quite!.Thanks to Willie for the mod(again). Please feel free to look at my pf and offer any suggestions as to where you think I may be going wrong or could improve,I am here to learn,Les.![]()
