Glad you all liked my little arty snow scene
and thank you for votes and comments.
A special thanks to Jocelia who generously gave it her User Award.
Today another snow scene with a touch of Topaz.
I'll await the verdict.

I have no knowledge of what Topaz does but it seems there is a slight grittiness in this presentation which suits the decrepit condition of the old hut well, Kate.

I am in the dark regarding Topaz too but I do like this, I think in colour the shed would not have had so much impact but the toning changes that, so well thought through. - gary

Topaz for those who aren't familiar is a plug in with which you can add effects
to bring out something you feel would enhance the image.
There are several plug in which do different jobs.
Fun to use and not too expensive.

I am very familiar with Topaz because it is the name of my beautiful Macaw, and also a great program to use, nothing compares with their Remask for cutting out objects to place on new backgrounds, also Topaz B&W Effects and Topaz Adjust are excellent tools for Photoshop. Your conversion Kate does have the effect of an oil painting look, I like it.

Trev.

An interesting effect. I think I would have liked to have seen this a bit brighter, with not so much grit in the sky, but that's only personal preference. It is great to explore and Topaz in loads of fun.

Kate, Your processing has given an old world feel to the image.......I like the way the strips of light cut across the shot.........had an interesting day in the glen was so quiet felt a bit strange at times even creepy.........so have fun....

Nice snow scene. Love the idea of a duotone but I think a blue or cyan toned one would work better.
