I got up at 2-45am to get to this location on the Isle of Skye, first there was a walk through a forest in the dark, and then a fair climb to these amazing rock pinnacles, it took just over an hour to get up there.

Wonderful shot of the Old Man. Made that walk the week before last, but guess it took us longer than an hour. There was so much mist you couldn't see it even from just underneath.....but then the sun came out!

I did exactly the same walk (at about the same time!) a couple of weeks ago, in fact I think we must have stood in the same spot - sadly (for me) the light wasn't as kind.

This is great.

And what a reward - a lovely dawn light.
I'm going there at easter next year but I am not sure I will be walking through woods on my own in the dark.

Lovely dawn light in this. I love being out on my own at dawn, with no one eles around, brilliant (not so keen on the early rises though!!)

Outstanding shot in the dawn light. Last time I was here it was dull and misty.

I'm really glad that I'm going to that area this year. Even if I never took my camera, to be there must be so fulfilling!

I prefer this to the later upload - lovely colours and composition. Definitely worth getting up at stupid o'clock for the hike through the woods... at least ( I guess) the midges would not be up at that time : )
