...on Loch Leven at Kinross, Perthshire, Scotland. The world was full of fluffy clouds & blue sky as the mist lifted over the mirror Loch.

Yesterday was a wonderfully sunny day in Scotland. Everybody was smiling and greeting eachother on my walk along the waterside.

***a word of information for the lack of shadow detail. I managed to shoot half the days work as sRGB J-peg files. I have no explanation as to how it happemed except to say "It was me". SadSadSad

I had to give a quick vote before the trek north! We know this place but never seen it look like this. Blue sky and those beautiful clouds" well probably stop off there tomorrow for 10 mins. Great reflections

And the only thing sailing towards it is a stately seagull!

There's a little boat to the right of the gull. This image has darkened a lot in the conversion for the web.
I shot out after I posted to put the car in for MOT or I might have lightened it. Sad

A fine view Dougie, seems you had our weather from Sunday Smile. As you say the shadows are a wee bit dark, but they add to the drama. V2 for me.

I have recently acquired some prints of a family fishing trip on Loch Leven, six of us in a rowing boat, in 1965 I believe it was. Probably the last time I ever cast a fly (in vain).

Love the lengthened format here, the glorious reflection and of course the blue. I'm not sure that the harsh shadow actually detracts.

Regards
Bill

A beautiful cloud/reflection study, Dougie: I can't decide between V 1 and 2.........V 1 seems to have more atmosphere, although from what you say, V 2 may be nearer to the original.

I really like the simple composition to this, Dougie, and you could not have asked for a more appropriate sky to top off this beautiful scene. I really feel that v1 is good as it stands, but tehen I wasn't there to see the light as you were.

Wonderful reflections of that lovely sky.
Today I got my "new" camera. The old one would have cost 180 Euro to be fixed, and they offered me to pay 200 Euro and get a reconditioned D5000 - it was only used in the studio and doesn't show any signs of use. I think it was a good exchange. Now I only need time to get out and about.

Next summer hope to get on the island. The info. there says the keys to the castle were lost but I saw them amongst Walter Scott's collection at Abbotsford house this year too !!!!!!Gill

The water looks like it is polished, great reflections

Yes Dougie. Living in Scotland really makes people appreciate the occasional sunny day. Having said that, I wouldn't change our climate even if I could.
