Another from Havana.
Thanks for your time and for any comments/criticisms.
Also - many thanks to Moira (mrswoolybill), John (lifesnapper) and Michaela (Michaela-Solway) for their UAs for The high note - who all made my day!!
Some great textures and tones as well as that serious look.
Lovely composition - all those vertical blocks, then the little face. And then the hole in the wall. There's a tension, because emotionally this is about the child, but I'm drawn to that hole!
wonderful comp ann brilliant detail and textures super colours love that look a cracker nice one
Fantastic shot Ann, lovely textures and details and I love the little girls expression.
Very cute and serious too . . .
Some remarkable tones and textures, and that intriguing hole in the wall . . .
another super image Ann... fine colours and textures and the interesting little gathering in the bottom left????
Excellent gritty colour and detail Ann. You have captured the girl in a perfect pose and expression. The only negative point I would make is that the recessed (electrical?) box on the left tends to draw the eye and I might have cloned or cropped it out. Hope you dont mind me pointing that out because this is still an excellent image.

Thanks for the comment about the electric box Derek - both Moira and Bill have mentioned it, so I think it will have to go! As you know, I'd rather somebody told me than not.... so thanks again!
Doesn't mrswoolybill analyse an image so well.....I have to go along with her comments completely.
I myself am not so sure about the recessed electrical box......whilst it might draw the eye, it's somewhat insecure state does fit in with the general dilapidation of the property, and is not a distraction for me.

Absolutely - in a nutshell every time!
Superb composition, colours, textures and of course the little girl. Excellent.
Fantastic and great capture indeed,Like the textures, tonesand and brilliant detail in this one,
I'm with Ronnie on this one, Ann. The inclusion of a person in an image almost always becomes the focus of the image, especially one so beguiling as this girl. The hole here makes very little impact apart from, as stated, to re-inforce the bad state of repair of the building.
Wonderful composition with superb textures and showing life as it is, top shot Ann.
Ann leave the electrical box. I like tension, uncertainty!
and the electric connection stays---this is Cuba!
Wonderful textures coming through Ann, with the lovely human touch again which makes it's so appealing.. What fuse box?
Perfect. Your pics of Cuba could seriously belong in a magazine Ann. All excellent.
What a lovely image Ann,great capture..Lin
Another fantastic capture Ann. The faded colours of the tattered building and the expression on the little girl peeping out give such a sense of the place.
Excellent capture Ann, I'm also drawn to the hole in the wall!
Another excellent bit of grot Ann,
and that includes the electrical box !!
Super image with good colour and texture
excellent. The girl's look between curiosity and caution! The compsosion and the wonderful textures.. could you ask for more!
A truly superb image ~ totally envious.
Exceptional and wonderful in every aspect and it includes the fuse box. However what impresses me most is the contrast between the aged worn out house with all the signs of wear and the very young girl looking out of the doorway. A thought provoking image with a hint of irony. It deserves all the awards, Ann!
A wonderful composition, Ann, a super expression you have captured on her face, and I like her toes peeping out from the bottom of the door Carol
A great grab shot .
delightful ... all these images from Cuba have been wonderful .Keep them coming!
What a good capture. Lovely composition, colours and textures.
Fantastic shot Ann, well done, Awarded!
BRILLIANTLY captured, Ann, with the kid framed so beautifully by all those colours and textures.
Wonderful timing and shot
A scene we would have taken for granted not that long ago in this country, but we have moved along a pace, whereas Cuba has been caught in a time lock by circumstances not always of their own doing.
Castro and his regime and a large chunk of American fear of the communist at the door has held the nation back at least half a century.
I like the inclusion of the hole it adds a balance to the composition which would change the image totally if not there.
Have another tree to your collection my friend.
How on earth did you manage to get a little girl to answer the door? superb image Ann
all this series need to go into a book!!!
Wonderful Ann. Such a tremendous image.
Absolutely charming, and the comments have been interesting to read. I'll sit on the fence with regard to the electric box.

... and you're on the Critique Team Pamela!!
No fence sitting here, the hole in the wall should stay. Unless someone is trying to sell the building . . .
What a smashing image Ann, and very in keeping with all your other shots from what must've been a wonderful Holiday. The comp' and colour are lovely, and the little Girls expression really make the picture what it is. Well done.
Great image! very well done
Ann, this shot is a masterpiece. It has so much going for it -- most of all it tells a story. I also really like your composition here as well.
Splendid in every way *****
Had to vote for this one !!!
Another wonderful image Ann - you are so good at capturing these.
Excellent street photography Ann, this is another fine addition to this fascinating series on Cuba
Looks great love the timing. Jamie
