Lovely composition - all those vertical blocks, then the little face. And then the hole in the wall. There's a tension, because emotionally this is about the child, but I'm drawn to that hole!
Moira
Fantastic shot Ann, lovely textures and details and I love the little girls expression.

Very cute and serious too . . .
Some remarkable tones and textures, and that intriguing hole in the wall . . .
Regards
Bill
Excellent gritty colour and detail Ann. You have captured the girl in a perfect pose and expression. The only negative point I would make is that the recessed (electrical?) box on the left tends to draw the eye and I might have cloned or cropped it out. Hope you dont mind me pointing that out because this is still an excellent image.

Thanks for the comment about the electric box Derek - both Moira and Bill have mentioned it, so I think it will have to go! As you know, I'd rather somebody told me than not.... so thanks again!
Doesn't mrswoolybill analyse an image so well.....I have to go along with her comments completely.
I myself am not so sure about the recessed electrical box......whilst it might draw the eye, it's somewhat insecure state does fit in with the general dilapidation of the property, and is not a distraction for me.
Ronnie.
I'm with Ronnie on this one, Ann. The inclusion of a person in an image almost always becomes the focus of the image, especially one so beguiling as this girl. The hole here makes very little impact apart from, as stated, to re-inforce the bad state of repair of the building.

Ann leave the electrical box. I like tension, uncertainty!
Moira
Wonderful textures coming through Ann, with the lovely human touch again which makes it's so appealing.. What fuse box? ![]()

excellent. The girl's look between curiosity and caution! The compsosion and the wonderful textures.. could you ask for more!
Exceptional and wonderful in every aspect and it includes the fuse box. However what impresses me most is the contrast between the aged worn out house with all the signs of wear and the very young girl looking out of the doorway. A thought provoking image with a hint of irony. It deserves all the awards, Ann!
delightful ... all these images from Cuba have been wonderful .Keep them coming!
A scene we would have taken for granted not that long ago in this country, but we have moved along a pace, whereas Cuba has been caught in a time lock by circumstances not always of their own doing.
Castro and his regime and a large chunk of American fear of the communist at the door has held the nation back at least half a century.
I like the inclusion of the hole it adds a balance to the composition which would change the image totally if not there.
Have another tree to your collection my friend.

Absolutely charming, and the comments have been interesting to read. I'll sit on the fence with regard to the electric box.
What a smashing image Ann, and very in keeping with all your other shots from what must've been a wonderful Holiday. The comp' and colour are lovely, and the little Girls expression really make the picture what it is. Well done.
