This was the view from our hotel in Ballachulish.
Thank you all for votes for Glencoe Mountains and
a special thanks to Saeid and Billy (williamsloan)
for User Awards.
Got a 1st in Digital tonight at Camera Club with the Santorini Bell Tower
which had the second highest of my personal votes from EPZ members.
Also got two 3rds in colour Prints with the Irish Potato Field which scored best
in EPZ and Malin Head. So I'm fair chuffed!

Another two lovely composed captures but my idea would to lighten the shadow slightly.
Keep up the good work. WesternRed.
What a splendid view form the hotel, Kate: the balance and composition in V 1 I find very pleasing although the light was not in your favour perhaps, there being such a bright sky and deeply shadowed land ( other than the peaks ), although you do seem to have captured some detail there.
Of the two images V 2 is my favourite, but in both the reflections are nice and crisp in that flat calm.
Sorry if I seem tom go on a bit
.
Ronnie.
I really like the inclusion of the boat and its reflection in v1 Kate, though both are excellent shots ![]()

What a wonderful image. Well done on the camera club successes ( despite my cynicism !
) You will have to stop calling your self a beginner soon

v1 is excellent, Kate. Composition is spot on and the shadow detail is just right on my monitor. The grass frames the bottom perfectly. Possibly the central sky area is a touch bright but a superb image for me.
Dave
V1 for me for the composition, love that little green sailboat
