I don't usually make whole peanuts available to the little birds, this one must have escaped whilst filling up the feeders...nothing escapes their beady little eyes..& he's not letting go either!
Love the expression here...& another go with the 1.4X TC
F5.6 aperture priority
1/160th sec with tripod, weighted down to avoid mirror slap
ISO 200
Spot metering
F/L 300mm + 1.4X TC
Raw file converted in C1LE
Touch of a crop (but nothing drastic) curves adjusted & border added in CS2.
Thankyou for taking the time to look. This is my 300th upload on site, your support is overwhelming!

Wonderfully detailed, perfect exposure. Well composed on the diagonal. Very appealing pic

Janet, this is such a beauty.
I played with a 2x converter on the Nikon 300mm lens today but no joy at all, all dark and very noisey every picture went in the recycle bin - sob sob,so sticking with a standard 300mm ![]()

Looks as if he's daring you to try & take it from him Janet.
Wonderful detail in this lovely little fella.

Thanks all.
Andrw..the bg is either my grass or the wall at the front of my house which is peppered with plants, bushes & trees...would have liked a couple of images in the snow though..none here!!
Brian..I will keep having a go now & then with the TC,I think it's a bit hit & miss but I'm sure I will get the hang of it....oneday..lol

Stunning image Janet. I like the change of scenery in this ie. not perched on a tree branch. It gives the image originality and a breath of fresh air. Well done. click!!

Stunning work as always Janet.Love it, and congrats on the well deserved HC too!

That big version must be seen in order to see more detail. Nice timing which shows the bird not wanting to share...or so it seems.
