Crawling along at about 15mph on the M25 toward the end of a very wet and tiring 12+ hour coach trip from Dorset to a garden in Kent.
At least it gave me a chance to check out the weather- proofing of the EM-5 + 60mm macro, which was fine ![]()
Shot from the 3rd row over the heads of the people in the front two seats using ISO400, f2.8 with 1/50th sec. (The IS works well on this camera)
Slight adjustment to exposure and a crop but otherwise as it came from the camera (via LR4.2)

This really captures the torture of slow moving traffic, the weather etc. Very atmospheric and a nice light. Glad I live nowhere near the M25
The Highways Agency are in the process of putting these blasted gantry signs up around the Bristol M4/M5/M32 area, which is ok in itself apart from all the bloody road chaos and accidents it's causing while they're doing it. They had a piece about it on the local news just the other night and were saying that while this work is in progress drivers are completely flouting the speed limits, with one driver clocked in the average speed camera area doing 137mph. If the drivers can't be bothered to drive at the speed limits now while they're constructing it, they're hardly going to bother taking any notice of the speed limits when it's finished!......Rather like the areas on the M25 where they have the things, the only way you get drivers to slow down is by having a visible police presence, but they say they don't have the resources. Of course the don't, they're spending all the millions on this bloody gantry system that nobody take a blind bit of notice of! You only have to travel around the M25 to see that!!!!.......Rant over!!!![]()
Good image by the way Brian......Ade![]()
Thanks Chris & Ade, especially as this doesn't show much on the "Thumbs"
I am quite a fan of the variable speed limits on this stretch as it does tend to stop the "Caterpillar Effect" which leads to so many rear end shunts which in turn are the biggest cause of the really bad blockages (we've taken over 5 hours to get from junction 28 round to the M3 junction before now)
