Also known as the "Waiting Soldier", he sits on a bench near the Town Hall in Cartagena, Spain.
He is a rather dejected looking man, apparently a soldier reporting for duty in the garrison.
The life-size bronze statue in uniform, head in hand, suggests "A Moment of Reflection".
Cartagena (pronounced car-ta-hay-na) is a Mediterranean city and major Spanish Naval Station, and boasts many beautiful statues and the natives like this type of art.
Pamela.

V2 for me, it's superb. The light, angles and tones balance, it seems more engaging and dynamic. I can talk to him...

Spot on exposure and excellent detail, Pamela. The background is nicely defocussed and very complementary.

Wondering what fate holds for him - must be an awful moment. Well captured - this conveys his fears very well.

Beautiful detail and colour. I like the DOF... it made the Soldier stand out...One thought about V1,Pamela. What about crop off the top a little to the top arch on the right side?

Beautiful shot with a well supporting background. I like V2 best, mostly because the sculpture works better from the front, I think.

Glad to see you are back on form, hope you are fully recovered! Pamela, like this bronze but then I like bronzes anyway big or small, yes he looks rather dejected bit like I felt when I was called up lol. I like the background also adds to the shots, both are up to your normal high standard so it's both for me, regards Leon.GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinWink

Well taken image, enough bg not to distract from the main subject and still enough to show that there is a great cathedral at the back.
