Good Evening All

Hope you are all well & have had a good weekend, despite the wet and windy weather today Sad

Todays pictures were taken at Rochester Cathedral a few weeks ago, I have been trying to get a good picture of this doorway for ages, and without anyone walking in and out of the shot!!

This elaborately carved doorway dates from the 1340's. Rochester's Medeieval Monks used this doorway as a night-time entrance from their dormitory in the adjacent Priory. Bishop Hamo de Hythe's design includes a representation at the top of the arch. The tiny naked figure is his soul ascending heavenward.

V2 is a picture taken from Rochester Castle Gardens, just across the road. Hope you like them both Grin

Many thanks for your votes and comments on my last upload "For Ronnie" - as ever they are always very much appreciated Grin

Have a good week - hope you all stay warm and dry Wink

Love Julie xx

An excellent shot of this door and an equally pleasing view in V2. Julie. The detail of the door and the surround is really beautiful.

The details in V1 are beautifully captured and the condition of the archway astonishing given its age. Nice to see the view in V2 also but it's V1 getting my vote,
