Taken behind where I live at Buckenham.

Short description

The grace and beauty of the brown hare, Lepus europaeus, have become symbolic of the British countryside. After the long winter months there can be few sights more uplifting to the human spirit than the spring-time boxing antics of these delightful creatures.

But the brown hare has become increasingly rare, especially in western regions. It is second only to the water vole as the British mammal which has shown the greatest decline during the past century.

All about the senses, eyes, ears, nose all acute. This really is an insight into the natural world.

I had to come back here. I don't often get excited by wildlife shots here, so much work seems to be concerned with technical precision rather than real truth about the natural world. Here's one where technical precision actually conveys truth. We're seeing the hare's experience of life, through its incredibly acute senses. Four attempts at editing this comment, I hope it makes sense now.

Well captured Ian. I have not seen a Hare for quite a while now, surprised it stayed around long enough for you to take a shot!!
Have a well deserved No 30 on me.

Thank you Peter and Ade for your comments and votes, got to say Peter there seems to be quite a few there at the moment but your right it's easy to see them but quite another to sneak up on them if not impossible, it's a patients game and lying down to wait for them to come close enough to you.
