Today we have a white rhinocerous, unfortunately another endangered species. This fine creature was originally captured at the Cotswold Wildlife Park near Oxford and "transported" to the "Plains".

Thanks so much for all your comments on my giraffe upload yesterday. I have taken all your comments on board and have uploaded a revised image as V2 today. Your comments would be appreciated as, if you prefer today's version, I will replace it on my website. Many thanks!

Have a great day!

Carol

v2 definitely an improved version with the solid ground. V1, the rhino, is superb. Great texture on the skin, a ruddy brown colour harmony throughout the image, and the threatening sky emphasises the latent power of the beast.

Must have taken some effort transporting that critter all the way to the "Plains", Carol. This works really well though and there is no concern re. the light which cropped up yesterday.
As for V 2, it is a striking image, but I am not sure that the light direction problem has been solved, nor can I imagine a way in which you could.
I must come back later to see if anyone can offer any help there......I'm afraid I can't.
Ronnie.

Thanks Ronnie - I did try to darken down the front light but this was as far as I could take it without losing all the definition. An annoying problem that I hope someone may be able to solve for me!

Would love to see a whole series of these put together - beautifully done and V2 is an improvement on the lighting situation and as you say not sure you could take it much further without loosing definition. The rhino is just superb..Jo

An answer to V2 would be to crop the animals to just below the front ones body.
